Food Stamp Payment Dates for November 2024: A State-by-State Guide

As November approaches, individuals and families who are part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), widely known as food stamps, are getting ready for their next benefits.

SNAP helps people with lower incomes in the United States, including all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and U.S. territories, to buy the food they need. Benefits are given through electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards, which can be used like a debit card at certain stores to buy food.

The SNAP program is run by the federal government, but each state decides when to give out the benefits, which is why the payment schedule is different depending on where you live. When you get your benefits might depend on things like your case number, the first letter of your last name, or specific rules in your state.

For example, in California, your benefits depend on the last number of your case number. If your case number ends in a smaller number, you'll likely get your benefits sooner in the month.
